Bring Brett Back Already For Packs Sake

Somebody needs to kick the incorporated entity that owns the Green Bay Packers in the face. Why are you even toying with the idea of letting Brett go? He wants to come back coming off one of his best season in years. So he "retired." Big deal, his wife was just putting pressure on him because he's getting older. Sure, they say you should quit while you're ahead, but what do I care? I'm starstruck fan fueled by what the sensationalist sports media feeds me.

But forget subjectivism, lets look at the facts:

There's money to be made.

The fan's simply can't live without him.

He needs to put the conspiracy theories to rest.

And lastly, and most importantly, he can't let this Aaron Rogers guy run this show. I mean, let's be serious here. The dude can't play a game without getting hurt, and consistently looks like he just got done with a fraternity binge.

I'm tired of the backstory. After last season versus recent history, the Pack would be stupid not to take Brett back. And I hate the Packers (being a Seahawk fan), but recognize the value of having more superstars in the league versus less (thank you Colin Cowherd).

Let's let the numbers tell the story.

95.7 QB rating for 2007, highest since 1996.

Highest completion percentage in his career at 66.5%.

Most passing yards since 1998.

Most yards per completion in his career.

And in other news, SportsCenter commentary on Philly's ArenaBowl win.. "[Finally, a ] Championship in Philadelphia." No sarcasm there, lol.

Commitment and desire are two separate things entirely. I'm huge fan of Brett Favre and I've been a Green Bay fan since the days of Don Majkowski being the QB. But when you are as huge a part of an organization as Brett was for the Packers and you retire it forces the organization to take monumental steps to move forward. Undoing those steps is not something to be done on a whim of one man who simply hasn't demonstrated commitment to a decision. Again, I'm a huge fan of the Packers and Brett Favre, but he needs to let go, retire with grace and allow the Packers to move forward.

I see your point. Green Bay probably made a lot of offseason decisions based around the expectation that Favre wouldn't be back. But don't you think that GB's unwillingness to release or trade Favre is a bit unreasonable?
