A Sad Day For BT

One of my favorite musical artists of all time, BT, just can't seem to catch a break. He released a press release today reporting the abduction of his 3 1/2 year old daughter, Kaia, through his PR firm and also on his website. Apparently, his daughter is reported to have been abducted by the girl's mother.

While this is incredibly terrible news, I find it quite peculiar due to the general lack of disclosure of BT's personal life with the media. I'm sure BT is desperate at this point, and in no way could I possibly understand what it feels like, it seems like a publicity destroying move to introduce this kind of information to the masses. Since he knows who the abductee is (the mother), who I'm sure means to harm to the child (didn't this just happen with Britney Spears?), one would figure it would only be a matter of time before the mother turned up.

BT has been down on his luck in recent years, after dealing with a messy lawsuit involving the rights to beats he created, as well as having his gear being stolen twice since the release of his last real album, Emotional Techology in 2003. BT released a more expirimental album in 2006, This Binay Universe, though I don't really count it, as it was an extreme transition in style (It sounds more like a movie score -- but is great, nonetheless).

BT's significant other appeared in the music video for "Break My Fall," where BT collaborated with DJ Tiesto for his most recent album, "Elements of Life."
