in six long weeks, erika and i will venture thousands of miles away to beautiful french polynesia. the past few days, i haven't been able to get my mind off of it. we bought a traveller's guide, and its only fueled my excitement.

the trip will undoubtedly puncture our pocketbooks (and credit cards), but it has to be done. isn't your honeymoon supposed to be the adventure that kick-starts your new life?

our friends tom and sarah got hitched last year, and they went to venezuela, where tom immediately got deathbed sick, and they had to return to the states. i feel bad for their honeymoon, but that is no doubt an adventure. the ride of your life.

i'm going to invest in a new digital camera (my old one died), and begin preparing the site to handle image galleries. it would be a shame if we didn't capture our own personal memories of the most beautiful island in the world.

we're headed to the island of bora bora at the end of august. originally colonized by the french, this tiny island of about 4,000 inhabitants was invaded by the americans in 1942 and setup as a supply station post pearl harbor. now, the island is just a tourist attraction, with it's biggest draw; seclusion.

we'll be staying on an islet on the outer perimeter of the coral-surrounded lagoon. if you check out the satellite imagery here, you'll see the islet in the northwest corner south of the airstrip.

from everything i've read about the island though, no pictures will do it's beauty justice. post a comment {0}
