this is where it gets fun

day two of my ASP.NET binge:

its all about user controls and web controls. i'm half-way done with my book, and i'm even doing the examples. this stuff is so awesome, i can't put the thing down.

user controls are God's sweet gift of, "This is way better," to server side includes. they give you the freedom of SSI without the path complications, or the over-exerted including of unneccesary code, and i even smell a whiff of templatization coming from that general direction...

and web controls.. holy crap. can we say... asp:DropDownList? i think we can. connect your datasource, choose your value and display fields, databind and bam.. instant dropdown.

what you say? ASP.NET has been around since 2002? well where have i been? anti-microsoft land.
